Missing this year's OVFF

Okay, so I didn't win a Pegasus. That wasn't unexpected, given the competition, and I actually would have dreaded winning, considering the number of people who were nominated who've been around so much longer than I have and in my eyes at least deserve a better shot at it.

I wish I could have gone to OVFF though.

Your absence in Ohio was very much felt, dear one. Don't you worry about those Li'l Winged Ponies, though. As the First Official Old Broad of OVFF (it's true.... Mary and Elaine started this new tradition and I'm the first inductee) I've looked in my crystal ball and seen herds of them flying into your future.

I, too, am looking forward to seeing you again in England. But, even better, we Southerners are eager for the day you park yourself in our yard, take up eating grits again, and become our Home Boy.

Keep on singing. Keep on smiling. And keep your promises... ;-)

You were missed.

And in the category in which we were both nominated, I felt the same way. Hearing Zander's name announced was the right thing. One day, when you and I have bodies of work that big and impressive, we will be able to consider winning such an award. As it was, the phrase, "It is an honor to be nominated," really meant something to me.

Everywhere I went, people were missing you. Gosh, I wish Khaos were here. When will we see him again? Remember when he did this?

In a way, you were at OVFF. You were in the thoughts and memories of your friends and your families, and your songs were sung, and your name was spoken.
