Dunno if you're aware of it, but Alan has a new book out as of last fall. Moloka'i (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/031230434X/qid=1076900337//ref=pd_ka_1/103-1341076-7483017?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) is the life story of a Hawaiian woman diagnosed as a child with leprosy and sent to the sanitorium for such (i.e. it's a historical, starting circa 1890). Quite good.

And due to it, finally got to remeet him at a local signing. Previously, I'd done a semi-stalking thing back in the mid-80s when both of us shopped at the same LA grocery store. He was wearing a New Twilight Zone writers jacket, which I noticed...and it occured to me that I knew, or knew what all of the writers on that show looked like...except for him. So I went up and asked if he was Alan Brennert, and he was. Not something writers really expect to happen in supermarkets. :-)
