I got into comic books because I was really there, to an extent, at the very beginning when comic books were first starting to appear here on the stands in the United States. I’d been to art school and had some training and I thought, "Gee, comics look kind of interesting. I don’t have a great deal of talent, but maybe I can draw a comic."
