Did I say late 70s? I think I mean early 80s. It didn't become a Christian until I was 12 (1977), and there was at least 3 years of having to be defensive about my SF habit before the first "Christian fantasy" started appearing. And I may have read the odd copy of "Buzz" magazine while I was still at Oak Hall, but I didn't really take to it until I was at university, which was 1983 (and it may have become "Alpha" by then, or something else. They had a fit of name changes around that time). But by the time I got to Uni I'd achieved peace in my own mind about enjoying SF & fantasy anyway, and just quietly disagreeing with the few authority figures at Oak Hall who got that terribly concerned look on their faces whenever the subject came up.
