You Can't Take This Show From Me

Just watched "War Stories", the latest episode of Firefly.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this show? Joss Whedon has managed to capture my complete devotion to a concept and a bunch of characters within less than half a season, which is more than I could have ever said for any Trek.

The people who aren't watching this are really missing out. The last three episodes have had so much plot and character development they've even made me start to like River and Book, who were easily the two most annoying characters ever when the show started. Really. Watch. This. Show.

Before it gets cancelled. Because, y'know, people have no frelling taste whatsoever.

Fox is still buying the show on trial basis, ordering a few episodes at a time. The original pilot, "Serenity" is airing December 20th as a 2 hour special.

Joss is GOD.

I adore the acting, and the delivery of lines, in Firefly.

"Take me, sir. Take me hard."

"Now, that is damn unsettlin'..."

"I'll be in my bunk."

"You startin' a book club? Are you trying to torture me?"

"The bastard's not going to get days."

"Wife soup!"

I swear - Firefly's spoiled me completely on Enterprise. It's getting so I don't even feel like watching it even to make fun anymore.

hi, all along I thought that you were only into Enterprise and Star Trek.

I love Firefly! More so than 24 and Sopranos and (dare I say it) some episodes of Farscape.

Could I ask how you got the latest episode "War Stories"? I usually download the episodes from Kazaa but its a bit slow getting there. And sometimes it takes up to a week to download the complete file.

I subscribe to a pay USENET service called easynews.com which carries the alt.binaries newsgroups (kind of focuses on them, really) and gives me a 6 GB limit per month for US$9.98.

Thanks for the tip. Will definitely look into easynews as an alternative to kazaa for new episodes.
