More shocking news

Well, Consonance should have closed by now, save for the dead dog, so it should be safe to announce this.

I am happy and privileged to say that I will be the Guest of Honor at Consonance 2005, taking place in Milpitas, CA next March, after my stint as US GoH at the UK filk con Dixseption.

Check web site for more details. It's going to be a busy couple of months next year, and I'm looking forward to hitting the West coast for the first time since 1991. As it's going to be Spring Break the week following, I'll probably hang around a bit, too so I'll be seeing some friends around the area... especially Tom Galloway and Piaw Na, both of whom work at Google.

Congrats. If you can arrange to be in the Bay Area over a Wednesday evening; Wednesday is our "open house" day (in San Jose, 20 minutes from the convention hotel). People just drop in, whether we're home or not. There will also be a more firnak party the Saturday after the Con.

Believe it or not, there are actually a few Singaporean restaurants out here, although I've not asked Piaw of his opinion of 'em.

Yes, I've seen two, although off the top of my head I only know where one of them is.

I know of at least three; Spice Islands across from the MV post office, one whose name I forget in Menlo Park a few blocks from Kepler's, and Straits Cafe (which has at least three branches in SF proper, Palo Alto, and Santana Row in San Jose).
