Crime Lords has a few more complexities than original Illuminati (action tokens, the bidding process at the beginning of the game) and a few simplifications (one central treasury, no control arrows). Also, the money process used during power struggles does mean wildly fluctuating target numbers, as well as a possibility for the money situation to change.
Oh. Yes, it is very good. It can take longer than original Illuminati, though. Because of the money thing it is also very playable with two people, unlike original.
