And thereupon the door of the Tardis was thrown open with a great clang, and out of it there came an embassy from the Dark Tower.

At its head there strode a tall and sinister shape, wearing a dark scarf, if scarf it was; for it was of no fixed colour and and hideous, and its shape was a changing one, more like a living thing than clothing, and at the ends there burned flame.
