I've fallen in love with a new comic strip - The Norm. If it had been in the local papers, I would have discovered it sooner, but it wasn't until I got to Atlanta that I found it in the newspaper there. It appeals to the frustrated romantic and the arrested developer in me...

I was almost in that strip once, back when Norm was lining up for weeks to see Episode I. I was going to be the guy in line with the guitar. I made it into one of the sketches on his webpage, but never quite made the actual strip.

I'm going to be honest, I liked it a lot more a year or more ago. He revamped it about a year ago, and changed it almost completely, just changed everything (got tired of the set up, I guess, and it wasn't a developing cartoon, like For Better or For Worse, say, so he seemed to feel sort of locked), and just suddenly people were....different. Sometimes radically so. He tried to refer to this, wryly ('One day you just wake up, and you're married..."), but it felt really leaden.

His earlier stuff was really golden. His stuff now is still way above most other things, but compared to what it was, it feels sort of ... '*sigh*', to me, if you know what I mean.
