an icepick through the keyhole

I used to scoff at extended warranties (a Mac malfunction? never!), but as Apple's prices have decreased since the Second Coming of Jobs, I have to admit that the reliabilitiy of Apple products has suffered slightly. I dare say a Mac is still a pretty reliable and durable purchase, but things seem more likely to go wrong...which is why I extended my AppleCare warranty to three years when I bought my 12" (boringly named YellowBook, in keeping with my -Yellow- naming convention for all my Macs).

BTW I counted and YellowBook is by NINTH Mac in eleven years. Frightening.
