khaosworksComing to you from the now all-too-familiar airport internet lounge, with free ethernet ports and power points. I better enjoy it while it lasts.
The combined weight of check-in baggage was nearly 50 kilos (give or take a hernia), but thankfully the guy at the check-in counter didn't mention anything and I didn't want to be the idiot who raised it first. I note that the weather in Atlanta is 87 degrees Fahrenheit, so there'll actually be little change from Singapore's temperature, except that it'll be about half as humid. And here I was worrying about acclimatization. Thank God it's not going to be like this all year around.
There were no tearful farewells. Mom had to rush off to start work at her school and Dad had to drive her. Not that there would have been any emotional displays anyway - my family's not one for them. Just a "Take care and e-mail or call," and me going, "Okay," and waving my guitar carrying case as I walked away towards the departure lounge.
Boarding's at 7.30 a.m. Just time to kill, now.
