Calling the Names by Heather Dale
The Trial of Lancelot by Heather Dale
These CDs I ordered after being pointed to an MP3 of "Modred's Lullaby" by
cadhla, and I decided to get them after applying my stringent and exhaustive formula for buying a CD. That is, I thought
Heather Dale looked hot. This is Celtic/medieval music, along the lines of Loreena Mckennitt and Enya.
"Names" consists of songs about her SCA kingdom - good stuff, but gets on my nerves after a while. There's only so many songs about shieldwalls and cousins joining the fray I can take. "Lancelot", on the other hand, is shorter, but much better sounding. It brings you selected bits from the Arthurian cycle retold in song, and is ethereal enough to transport you away into that cycle.
And she's cute. So there.
