And if I laugh at any mortal thing...
Mar. 5th, 2002 07:34 pmWhen I heard that Chuck Jones had died, in a fit of grief I went onto Amazon.com to see what I could get to bring back some memories. Rhino Records came to the rescue with their excellent two CD collection, "That's All Folks", a collection of soundtracks from various Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes (including classics like "What's Opera, Doc?" and "Three Little Bops") - and it just arrived today.
I'm listening to it right now, and although a part of me is saddened by the fact that Mel Blanc, Friz Freleng and now, dear Chuck is gone, I'm listening to Mel Blanc, as Daffy Duck, singing in a faux Latin American/Danny Kaye accent "Nothing could be feener than to be Caroleena in the mornink..." and laughing so hard I'm in the middle of a coughing fit as I write this. I don't know whether I'm crying tears of laughter or of sorrow.
And I don't care. I'm loving every second of it.
Thanks for the memories, guys.
