Back in the big, bad city
Jun. 4th, 2002 05:20 pmWhilst browsing for something else totally, as is usually the case, I came across Ed McBain's new 87th Precinct novel in paperback, "Money, Money, Money". Not exactly the most scintillating of titles, but hey, it's McBain. It's the 51st novel in the 87th Precinct police procedural series and the prose is still as crackling as the first I read nearly 15 years ago. Now I'm back in Isola, walking the mean streets with Steve Carella, Myer Myer and Fat Ollie Weeks. It's Christmas week, the chill is in the air, and so is the smell of murder, deception and dirty deeds done cheap.
God, it's good to be home.
