...everyone's bitching about it, so I won't repeat it. But just a thought. Aside from wanting to launch a DDOS attack on the White House, I can't think of a single good reason to communicate with this White House.

In other news: Mostly, kinda, sorta, packed. T -2 days.

Will be taking a break, to finish up packing - the next time you hear from me, LJ-wise will probably when I'm at the airport on Monday morning, logging in from the computer lounge before my flight to Tokyo at 8.00 a.m. Singapore time.

(I've already set Cassandra's time zone to EST, which explains the odd time stamps on these last few entries.)

As I leave you for the weekend, I discover that the body of Dr Kelly has been identified, and the cause of death seems to have been a knife cut to the left wrist - the knife was found nearby as was a pack of painkillers. Looks like suicide... which means more fodder for the conspiracists, in addition to some more immediate trouble for the BBC and the others who put the guy on the spot. Poor sod. There you go. Calls for Blair to resign.

Also, with another US soldier killed in Baghdad, the US is finally getting around to thinking about asking the UN to take a bigger role in reconstruction, which is about frigging time. Again, I feel a certain sense of pleasure at knowing that Bush & Co. have to eat crow and acknowledge that only the UN has the authority to impose order on Iraq, and that the international community needs to get involved. Just because you have the bigger guns doesn't mean people will respect you. The UN is militarily impotent, but at least it's an organization that will be able to mobilize things with some degree of legitimacy.

Have a good weekend, be it at Concertino, or elsewhere, and I'll see you on Monday morning to chronicle my journey to the US.

For those who are joining our regular broadcast from Singapore because I told them: the easiest way to keep track of me is via my Livejournal - welcome.

However, some entries are friends-only and filtered, and I can't add you to those filters if you aren't members of LJ, and to do that you need... a referral code.

I have literally dozens, since I ponied up the exorbitant fee to become a permanent member of LJ.

So. If you're a good friend of mine, who wants an LJ code so I can give you access to the more... intimate sections (sorry, you'll have to get your vaccination shots on your own) that I occasionally post about my life, let me know and I'll pass a code along.
