I conduct tutorials for the Practice Law Course - that's the course law graduates in Singapore take as part of their qualifications to be admitted to be Bar here. I like teaching. It gives me a chance to dispense knowledge without feeling and looking like a total know-it-all asshole, and at the same time I like interacting with all these young people, fresh out of law school, full of passion and energy and youthful idealism and ready to take on the world and the rest of their legal careers, before a couple of years (or sometimes months) of the real thing cruelly squishes all sense of hope out of them like guts from a bug smeared under the heel of a heavy industrial boot.
