General ickiness and new toys
Nov. 25th, 2001 02:17 amI've got a devil of a sore throat. Not the raspy kind, the close-up-the-wind-pipe-and-hurts-when-you-swallow kind. I've been dumping antiseptic lozenges down my throat but it's not helping much. To get into graphic detail, there's also phlegm, and it's thick and yellow, which (whoo hoo!) always means there's that Upper Respiratory Tract Infection thing going.
Today I bought this great backpack for the Powerbook - whose tentative nom du crime is Cassandra, by the way - made by an Australian company called STM (whose motto is "luggage for the global digerati"). This is mine - except mine's in black with red trim. So many pockets that I lost track of where I packed the power adaptor.
I also snagged this incredibly cool optical mouse from Kensington with a retractable spring-loaded USB cable that sucks it right into the mouse body like a power cable on a vacuum cleaner. My last new toy, also from Kensington is one of those LEDs on a flexi-cable that also plugs into the USB port and lights the keyboard in the dark.
Anyway I'm just going to lie here in the dark, listen to Christine Lavin's tribute album, and IRC.
