Bad, bad unupdating KhaOS

khaosworksI don't really know why, but I haven't really felt much like writing in here lately. Not that there's anything really going on to yell about, but maybe this is the beginning of the end, the energy leeching out of me wanting to update. Wish for some major upheaval so that I can rant about it.
Well, okay, there is something big. Those of you who're on #filkhaven already know about my travel plans for this year. I am foregoing going to cons in favor of spending all my vacation time this year in Atlanta where I will be recording my first commercial filk CD with Bedlam House. I'll be spending February getting a draft version down so I can figure out where all my friends' parts will go and I'll get everyone down and we'll all be recording and it'll just be like a mini-con organized around me. Yay. I might even manage to hook up with my idiot sisters (take a bow,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

I still haven't gotten my tickets yet, though. The travel agent I usually use only shows up on Saturdays at the agency now, and things have been conspiring to keep from from getting there. And it's February - glorious February, where the special extended hours scheme is finally extended to us poor, overworked Judicial Officers. The rest of the Civil Service have had this deal for a while now. Basically, as civil servants we all work half days on Saturdays, but in exchange for extending our official working hours from 5 pm to 5.30 pm (which is no biggie, seeing that most of the time we stay even later), we now get alternate Saturdays off. And tomorrow is the first of those glorious alternate Saturdays. After six years of one-and-a-half-day weekends, you better believe I'm goddamn excited.
I was down with a cold for the last few days - one of those coughs that won't go away but not so incapacitating that I can't go to work kind of illnesses. But I got some antibiotics and Actifed from my doctor and it's helping. This weekend will be spent lazing around as much as I can. I got the new Enterprise to download and watch, and a couple of episodes of Justice League that best friend Logam handed to me.
Life is good for the moment.
