Back at the airport lounge
Apr. 4th, 2002 06:10 amFell asleep despite my best efforts to remain awake and woke up fifteen minutes before the taxi was scheduled to arrive. In fact, the taxi was early, and there was a frenzied rush to get dressed and navigate my this time more than usually packed trolley bag out the door.
Mom was singularly unhelpful, reminding me to do this or the other (take my medications, watch that I don't drop my tickets out of my coat, etc.), and complaining about me rolling the bag across her marble floor. It's not that I don't appreciate her concern, but she doesn't realize that the more she - well - nags, the more likely it is I'm going to actually forget things because she's still the only person that can really get to me and I want to get away from the nagging. I love her, but it's frustrating.
Made it to the airport and through the check-in without incident, and smoothly this time, compared to last year's fiasco where I was told to come in three hours earlier. Lilith posed no problems, but I'm still waiting for the drones at Narita to start mumbling.
Right now I'm on the airport Internet Cafe PC - but there's nobody at the counter so I'm not sure that I actually have to pay for using this. What the fuck, if no one's asking, I'm not forking out. They're running on Windows XP, for Chrisssakes, with the Teletubby theme. They should be paying me to use this crap.
(Dad just phoned saying Mom wanted me to take my meds! Ha ha! I have foiled her, because I already have taken my meds with a swig of a $5.35 bottle of Snapple. Do I take pleasure in the wrong things? Yes. And yes, the Kiwi Strawberry Snapple cost $5.35. Airport prices. Sheesh.)
So before I go, I'll wish
kyttn a happy birthday and go check in on IRC, see if people are around. Got until 7.30 am to kill before boarding.
