In Atlanta
Apr. 8th, 2002 11:51 pmDidn't update over the weekend because the Canadians evidently have different ideas of what constitute a "data port". When I heard that I thought it'd be an ethernet connection from the hotel room like they had at OVFF. Turns out that what they mean is a phone line, and since I didn't have a Canadian ISP, I was pretty much screwed.
Anyway, FKO was great, and now I'm in Atlanta, at
jost's place. I'm too tired at the moment to really write anything coherent about the con, so I'll save that for later (having had to be routed from Toronto to Atlanta via Dallas-Fort Worth... ick, and I'll bitch about Toronto customs later as well). Date: 2002-04-17 01:55 pm (UTC)But it was an X-factor that supposedly really tips the scale. The ABBA revival band Bjorn Again saw fit to perform in Vancouver as part of their 2002 tour, but skipped Toronto entirely. For some reason, Vancouver was considered an ABBA-worthy city, but Toronto was not, and apparently, that's why he's leaning towards Vancouver.
