I never got into Farscape because it was always being shown on cable at the wrong times. When I was up in Atlanta this April, I watched the (more or less) three part Third Season ender to the series and got completely hooked.

I've been downloading episodes off the net and buying the Region 2 DVDs to catch up. It's... different. The people don't get along, they're not particularly nice, and most of them have deep, dark and nasty pasts (even the nicest ones). I think I've figured out why I like it so much - it reminds me of another dysfunctional SF rebel family from my childhood with nasty characters I grew to love: Blake's 7.

Now, when is that coming out on DVD then?

B7 might still be found on some PBS stations in the states. See if you can find someone who has tapes.

Farscape Rocks

I owe my allegiance to the Allmighty Farscape to Jim Henson's amazing artbois and SciFi's Chain Reactions. There's nothing better than a marathon of the six best episodes to remind you why a show is so cool.

Oddly enough, though, I've never been able to watch Farscape as it's airing. The last time I was about to have the chance, my apartment caught fire the day before the premiere. Now they've started a new season, and my job needs me Friday Nights (maybe I can negotiate around this...).

And it's back-to-back with my other favourite TV show that's still got new episodes : Stargate SG-1!

The Blake's 7 DVD is scheduled for early 2003 - I plan on preordering it the second it becomes available. :)

Region 1. Don't know when it'll be released in other regons...

Ooh! I want! I have crappy tapes from PBS broadcasts that are about 15 years old now, and I've been wanting to improve on that for some time. At one time it was possible to buy some episodes on tape, but I don't think they ever finished and I haven't seen those in years. DVD would be nice.

Silly puppy. Aeryn came back the very next episode, which was the premiere of the third season. Sadly, there was a cost... the life force of dear, dear Zhaan.
