Felt the urge to add more books to my unread queue list.

The Dreadful Judgement: the true story of the Great Fire of London, Neil Hanson, Corgi, 2002. A new account based on modern forensics and insights into the physics of fire as well as eye-witness accounts discovered in private papers and personal letters.

The Great Game, Peter Hopkirk, Kodansha International, 1992. A history of the great imperial struggle for supremacy in Central Asia between Victorian Britain and Tsarist Russia - the 19th Century Cold War, full of espionage and treachery.

Vectors, Michael Kube-McDowell, Bantam, 2002. A couple of people have recommended this SF novel about reincarnation and immortality, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

But really, I've got to stop buying new stuff until I read all the ones I've already got.

KMac's great new novel... Vectors

I've turned into a one-woman crusader for this book. I've given away two copies already. I'm on my second reading of it (and I have a stack of other good books I haven't read yet....)

I would really like to hear your opinion of this story when you finish it. I won't risk spoiling it in any way, but the ending is controversial and has prompted some interesting discussions among the folks here in Atlanta who have read it.

Michael Kube-McDowell is a stirling writer who hasn't had the kind of recognition he deserves, IMHO. Don't know if it's the topics he chooses, or the publisher just not promoting his work actively, or what. I only know that he should continue writing, and the success of this book is very important. I'm trying to find ways to get it into people's hands (people who can direct it into notable arenas.)

Keep me posted on your progress with the story....
