This is for the Singaporeans out there who order Region 1 DVDs from Amazon.com - you might want to compare prices with Amazon.ca - yes, the Canadian one - first. Since the Canadian dollar currently stands at 1.11 SGD to 1 CAD, the savings might be quite substantial (your average DVD going for US$18.74 goes for about CAD$20.99 - doing the math, that's about a 30% saving, and the shipping is pretty much the same).
A caveat: Not everything will be that cheap, of course, and there may be differences in the special features available even though it's the same region encoding - but it would probably be worth your time to do a little calculating.
