My first Cthulhu-based ABBA filk in two years. Be very, very afraid. I had hoped never to unleash this, but it took me so long to figure out how to fit the multi-syllabic name of Nyarlathotep into a song...

And, you know-- I just have to make sure your fans know that my Sister, Brenda Sutton, made the word "Nyarlathotep" scan in a song nearly two years ago now.... I point you to this little ditty, which should bring back, well, a couple of memories for you....

You can actually blame Brenda for this. When you girls publicly humiliated - humilated I say! - me with that little ditty my only defensive gesture was to point out that I've never used Nyarlathotep in a song. And so... it had to be done.

My wife pointed me to this filk, with the comment, "Khaosworks isn't on your friends list, but I don't think I ought to suffer alone.
Besides, you've got the ABBA at home, so you can actually hear the tune, which I can't at the moment."

So I just played the CD, while singing along.

I'm impressed with the scansion. Your words fit their tune better than theirs do. . .

Best line is "And we can chant and then maybe/Sacrifice a baby."

Now the CD's gone on to other songs, and Lovecraft's in my head. . . "One of us is Hastur/One of us is Master. . ."
