I'm not Bill Gates - I'm Tech Support

Just talked Dad out of doing a reformat on the PC's hard drive just because Gateway Tech Support told him to. Everything else on the PC is working perfectly except for the built-in Windows HD defragger. Well, then - don't defrag. These days, the performance increase is negligible anyway.

Why oh why is Tech Support's only solution a reformat? It's like going to a doctor for an ache in your elbow and him telling you, "Well, let's do a full body amputation."

Sheesh.
