Trust Me. That's How Lawyers Say, "Screw You," Isn't It?

By Mr. Terence Chua, feeling a churning in his stomach.

Here's where you can see the first ads for the Bush 2004 campaign (needs Windows Media Player plug-in).

And if you feel that you can't look at them without throwing up, here are the transcripts.

The tagline to the ads is "President Bush: Steady Leadership in a Time of Change". In other words, the Bush campaign message is, "Don't rock the boat - keep things the way they are." Well, unfortunately, the way things are suck balls.

What also gets to me is this quote, from the "Lead" ad:
"I know exactly where I want to lead this country; I know what we need to do to make the world more free and more peaceful. I know what we need to do to make sure every person has a chance at realizing the American dream. I know what we need to do to continue economic growth so people can find work, to raise the standards at schools so children can learn, to fulfill the promise to America's seniors."
Well, glad you know that, George. WISH YOU'D FUCKING TELL US.

Because:

1) The world is not more free or peaceful.
2) People can't find new work.
3) The education system is reeling from funding cuts.
4) There are significant gaps in senior citizen prescription coverage.

And as for where he's leading this country... where are we and why are we in this handbasket?

It's fluff - that's all there is so far. It's all these sickeningly sweet visions of hardworking Americans, and all I can see is Americans having to work harder to hold on to their jobs and spend the next 20 years working off the deficit he's building up. It's him mumbling platitudes while the subliminal mind control machines flash "Trust Me" every 1/24th of a second.

So bend over, drop your pants and grab your ankles.

Oh, so do I, Mr. President.
That's why I'm voting for Anyone But You in November.
