Guitar update
Aug. 28th, 2004 10:00 pmSo, went down to Guitar Center - the guitar tech took a look at Lilith and decided that it'd be best to send for another neck from Taylor and replace the whole neck instead of trying to glue it back together. Apparently, this happens a lot to Taylors - so the good news is that not only can it be dealt with, there appears to be no overt damage to the rest of the guitar so if we're lucky, Taylor will consider it a defect and not an accident and therefore still covered under warranty. Even if Taylor decides otherwise, a new neck will cost about $70-$80, which is way better than buying a new guitar. I left Lilith there with the tech guy after drawing up the repair order.
So I'm relieved. The bad news is of course we have no idea when the new part will be sent over, so they'll call me when it's done and I'll have to arrange for a weekend to get down to Atlanta once again to pick Lilith up.
Still, load off my mind.
