Surfacing briefly to announce that a 27-second teaser trailer for the new Doctor Who series coming next March is on the BBCi website.

Why am I excited? Even though it's only less than half a minute, it's the first new Doctor Who footage we've seen since 1996.

Camera zooms in from space down through the clouds, towards London as we hear voices.

Christopher Eccleston with affable Mancunian accent: "I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?"
Billie Piper: "Rose."
CE: "Nice to meet you, Rose... (more menacingly) Run for your life!"

Camera pans quickly across the new Doctor Who logo as traditional theme music plays. Cut to street, the TARDIS dematerializing in a soft-focus glow with accompanying sound.
