More Doctor Who pimping. For those who haven't seen it, or don't want to bother, here are some screencaps from the 50-second trailer shown on the BBC.

You want to come with me?

'Cos if you do, then I should warn you...

You're going to see all sorts of things...

Ghosts from the past, aliens from the future...

The day the Earth died in a ball of flame...

It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm...

But I'll tell you what it will be...

...a trip of a lifetime!

Doctor Who. Coming soon to Saturdays on BBC One.

Hmmm....the new TARDIS interior looks a bit......alien. But it's domed instead of cylindrical! And metallic! And it looks like the Beeb spent some bucks on it! :)

As for the Doctor's new look (and buzzcut), that'll take some getting used to. Just like we did with the past incarnations -- Tom's scarf, Peter's cricket sweater, Colin's coat, Sylvester's umbrella, and Paul's outfit.

I do like the words in the promo, though.

Thank you for sharing. I haven't been this excited about DW since early '85. Time for me to do a LOT of catching up on the stuff I've missed since then.

Catching up?!? Impossible. =:o}

I haven't managed to keep up with DW for the last 15 years, even staying on the job 24/7! First I had to be selective about which "missing adventures" I read 'cos I couldn't keep up with those as well as the "New Adventures"... Then it was the same problem with the BBC PDAs versus the EDAs, compounded by waiting to keep up to date with the ongoing Doctorless NAs 'cos Benny is just such fun... then along came Big Finish, and I had to give up buying *ANY* PDAs and gradually fell 18 months behind on the EDAs, while I listened to the Eighth Doctor (McGann) running around with Charley and the other DOctors with new companions and old familiar ones, and tried to fit in the Sarah Jane Smith series, the Gallifrey series, the Dalek Empire series, the UNIT series, and of course Benny Summerfield still going strong with Braxiatel sending her off to do meet the Sontarans and Draconians and Sea Devils and Daleks and the reconstructed K1 robot and... and... And then someone pointed out that the unofficial audio adventures from BBV weren't at all bad either (including not just the "Alice and Dominie" series and "K9 and 'The Mistress'", but also Mad Larry's "Faction Paradox" chronicles, which inconveniently spun off from the run of EDAs which I *had* read so of course I *had* to check those out...)

I'm trying to put together a documentary on the "unseen years" of DW, but it's been a bit delayed by having to move house, look for a job, fight off legal disputes to the tune of multiple thousands of pounds, and get a haircut, and the fact that it's patently impossible to do the subject justice in under 10 hours. But it'll be really informative & useful when it's finished! =:o}
