If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Sitting in the hall at a desk at NoreasCon4, during the masquerade, talking to you & Maureen O'Brien about Stargate, comic books, Dr. Who and other stuff. And being asked if we were saved, over and over.

At the first con that Greg and I went to after we first got engaged (I think it was an FKO), Steve Mac got me close to tears with one of the songs he has written, and you looked rather smug as you finished me off by singing The Rest of Forever.

Setting up the sting during the Three Weird Sisters set at OVFF the year you were Interfilk guest, and watching your reaction when they sang the song. :)

"Can You Hear the Pipes Cthulu" at the first Pegasus concert I attended, and finally breaking down find out who the heck Cthulu was after stumbling into the name on usenet 97,000 times and thinking it was some internet computer thing. Actually broke down and read some HP Lovecraft at the public library.

Running into you in con suit way too late at night when I really should have been in bed but was too wired to do so.

I miss our Wal-Mart trips and Atlanta drives. It's just not the same. I talk to myself all the time now, and I don't have anything interesting to say! ;-)

I remember spotting you in the Boston airport, thinking "Oo, he's got 'I just went to the con' written all over him and he's going to be on my flight....I should strike up a conversation!"

I remember seeing you sing at WorldCon in Chicago and at the following FKO. You were working on filking all sorts of ABBA songs. I remember meeting you and working on your back at GaFilk a couple of years ago.

You telling me I really ought to go ahead to Brenda's party-- what did I have to lose? And sitting at TB's house while I got dressed for it.

When you had to go out and buy a copy of Eats, Shoots and Leaves because I kept reading sections of the ebook out to you in the car at stoplights in Athens.

And of course, "You are the bard of old Cthulhu and we are your little fan-boy toys!"

The first-ever time I sang in public - at OVFF, a few years ago, singing 'Kate and the Ghost of Lost Love' with you. I still don't quite know if that was intentional on your part, or if I was butting in unexpectedly, but it was a really wonderful experience on my part....

Not neccessarily a PLEASANT memory, but sharing a room with you at Quinze, pre-CPAP.

I got so little sleep that weekend ;)

I've seen you at OVFF. I recall you reading some weird Lovecraftian thing in a circle. I probably said hi at some point, though I'm no doubt not as memorable as you are.

My actual first memory of you is you telling me on #filkhaven that you had written a song based on a comment I had made to someone. And, thank you for both the heads' up and the song.

You were singing Kate and the Ghost of Lost Love at the british filkcon, and I think you were surprised when I came in on the female part, but you didn't miss a beat! That was a lot of fun. (Still haven't figured how you expected to do that song solo!)

Borrowing your "Brave and the Bold" in secondary school, thereby starting my long and ignominious descent into the world of comic books and role-playing games.

If not for you, today I'd be a well-adjusted engineer with a wife and two-and-a-half kids, instead of a struggling animation writer. Damn you, TC. Damn you!

That, and skipping school to catch the very first screenings of Bond movies at the old Lido Cinema.

I knew you first as a BBS handle on a screen, back in 1987 or so, in the Singapore BBS scene, probably on Audioline. Your posts stood out because you actually wrote in complete sentences and knew punctuation other than ellipses, and being able to put together a coherent message was a bonus. It wasn't till some months after that we met face to face; I think it was an SFAS meeting at the Queenstown library.

Saw you at a few sings, but the best memory is having breakfast with you, Debiie O, Allison and Jody at FKO a few years back. Sings are fun, and you can develop a lot of respect for someones talent - but at breakfast that day I got to like you as you.

At the Poul & Gordon Memorial Filk Circle and the Millenium Philcon, when you walked in in the middle of the performance of "And We All Sang Bouncing Potatoes" — which you weren't singing yourself due to a sore throat — just at the point in the song where Poul shows up at his wake in care of the Time Patrol. Thanks again for taking that title and running with it!

This only vaguely connects to you, but it involved singing "Banned from Arkham" in my brush-calligraphy course.

Couldn't get that song out of my head for near a month. ^^;
