Man, I am in such fscking bad shape. Did 18 minutes on the treadmill, and a couple of reps on the bench press and leg press machines and I am wasted.
After 6 years away from the gym, I've also forgotten how to use the machines without doing myself an injury, so I've made an appointment with one of the trainers for Thursday evening to do me up a fitness assessment (I anticipate him calling the paramedics) and a training programme. I don't usually like trainers - don't like the idea of strangers telling me what to do with my body, which is probably Freudian and dirty as hell - but I think I need the re-orientation.
But oh, I am going to be in so much pain tomorrow.

Good luck with it!

Date: 2006-05-03 03:43 am (UTC)I feel your pain (a bit literally), khaos. After some injuries five year or so ago, I went through some physical therapy and continued those exercises religiously on my own for a few years, strengthening up those areas a bit. I wasn't overly athletic or anything, but it all helped me function day-to-day. Then I had mono/glandular fever three years ago and the muscle tissue atrophied away. I've been fighting ever since to find the energy to build up a fraction of it back...and then my liver went crazy again last month. Starting to try to do the exercises again, and yeah, it doesn't take much to wipe me out.
