Busiek, Simone and Waid, oh my

For those in and around Singapore, this December there's going to be the Singapore Writers Festival. Part of it is also a small section on graphic novels/comics - in 2005 they brought in Colleen Doran, and this year, it's going to be Kurt Busiek, Gail Simone and Mark Waid. Kurt told me about it when I met him in San Diego earlier this year.

As a big old fanboy, I've volunteered my services to the SWF folks for moderating and/or helping out. If you want a chance to meet three critically acclaimed comic book writers, that's the place to be. I'll keep people posted on the schedule. In the meantime, ideas for things they can talk about are always welcome.

Let me know if you'd like me to warn, er, inform, Kurt and Mark that they should ask for you (and by extension, Gail. Don't know her well, but she and Mark are friends as I recall and probably her and Kurt as well as I believe they live in the same area).

I would say to ask Kurt to tell the Nazi story about him and Mark, but that one might best be done out of the public ear. : -)

I've already e-mailed Kurt (and cc'd to Mark and Gail) about possibly getting together for dinner, depending on their schedule, so they at least know the possibility of this happening. Hopefully the SFW folks I'm in touch with will continue to keep me informed.
