khaosworks: (Who?)

Ten first lines from my iTunes playlist right now. Guess the songs. Bonus points for guessing the artist and album, or guessing the version that I have (if it's been covered), where applicable. Play fair now, no Googling.

These are pretty easy.

1. Once in your life, you find her.

2. I was born in a beauty salon, my father was a dresser of hair.

3. You're beautiful, more beautiful than me.

4. Bed, bed, I couldn't go to bed.

5. Thought I knew my mind like the back of my hand.

6. Like a flower waiting to bloom, like a light bulb in a dark room...

7. And you know the light is fading all too soon.

8. It used to seem to me that my life went on too fast.

9. Declaration of my feelings for you.

10. You remind me I live in a shell.

D'OH!!! Can't believe I didn't recognize "TOTS"...or the Steve Winwood song right above it, though it's been a decade at least since I last heard it. Not a friggin' clue on any of the others.

BTW, the full name of the DVN song is "Title of the Song: A Rhetorical and Structural Analysis of Boy-Band Ballads from the Mid- to Late-1990s." Just so y'all know. :-)

>>1. Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)<<

AAUGH! Another one I can't believe I didn't recognize...

Christopher Cross had SUCH a huge year then, between that, "Ride Like the Wind," "Never Be the Same," "Say You'll Be Mine" and "Sailing"; he won an armful of Grammys, as I recall.
