This is perhaps the most critical time of the strike. My friends in the Guild are wanting the 48 hour vote. And no one is very happy with the free streaming window.

Whatever happens, it sets a bad precident to end the strike before the deal is ratified. The congloms are all gearing up to go back to work on Monday, like the WGA will just bend over, even after how strong they stayed during the strike. Like it's all said and done, just because Michael Eisner said that it's all said and done.

Everyone wants the strike to end. If the deal isn't ratified, the next time the WGA would have any leverage will be in June, when SAG walks. In the mean time, we lose the Oscars, the fall tv season, and the '09 movie slate. The industry would be, in effect, destroyed.

But the Guild members should vote to approve the deal before the strike ends. Ending it any other way erases everything the last few months have meant. And with new media on the line, it means alot. Not just for writers now, but for generations of future writers who will eventually be creating content distributed solely on the internet.

That being said... if I don't get new eps of 30 Rock, I may actually die!!!!

;)
