Still trying to figure out what to do in the nine days or so between Comic-Con at the end of July and Denver Worldcon in the second week of August. I don't drive, so that cuts down on the options a bit.

I'm really open to suggestions: anyone want to offer me crash space somewhere in the week between, or suggest travelling options between the two states. Or anyone taking a road trip up to Worldcon that'd like the company? Or... anything, really, as long as it's sorta kinda in the space between California and Colorado?

Worst case scenario, I might wind up in Vegas or Salt Lake City or rent a cabin in Rocky Mountain National Park or something...

We're in a suburb of San Diego, and You're welcome to crash at our place - we could even get up a house filk in your honor. We've got a very comfy queen sized air matress, and we're not that far from the trolley line so you can get around to a few places of interest without a car. There's wi-fi, three cats, and two dogs. Who could resist?

If you want to go a bit out of your way -- and if accomodations are available -- you might consider swinging north to Yellowstone. It's a bit out of the way, but you could easily kill a week there and not get bored.

Another possibility is coming up to Oregon, depending on whether schedules match. If so, I suspect that someone up here might be willing to host a filk. (My place may be too small, unfortunately.)

If you decide to go to Vegas, you might want to consider taking a trip to Grand Canyon. A day trip is nice, but better if you have 2-3 days to spare. They offer accommodation at the foot of the canyon, and put you on a donkey/colt for the ride down the canyon. A little dangerous and steep, but you'd be treading the steps of the natives, so I imagine it'd be quite an adventure. I heard you get to see owls, deers and snakes in the night too. I only had time for a day trip, so I can't comment whether the accommodation is comfortable. Perhaps you can check online.

I'd offer, but I'm way the heck on the other side of the country, down south in Florida. Nothing to see over here. Well, yeah, there's Disney, but that's four hours north, and you weren't really interested in seeing a big mouse, were you?
