One more Trek thought

One more Star Trek movie spoilery thing just occurred to me, in addition to my last post on the matter.

If this is the same universe as the original? The way time travel works in the Star Trek universe?

The first thing I'd do as Old!Spock is get a starship and zoom over to the Guardian of Forever, and try to change history back. No issues with any Temporal Prime Directive because this is Not How It's Supposed To Be^TM in the first place.

Why bother with the Guardian of Forever? Just get a starship and slingshot it around the sun like in The Voyage Home.

Old!Spock said at the end that he'd found a colony world for the Vulcans. It would be...interesting...if that was the Guardian of Forever's planet. Totally unlikely, of course, but interesting.
