Started the first of what will be several meals with various friends and acquaintances to say good-bye - today was a dim sum lunch with former colleagues from the Attorney-General's Chambers at Szechuan Court at Raffles City. The post-prandial urge to sleep has never been stronger.

It doesn't help that I stayed up late last night finishing Elite Force II. The ending was slightly better than Elite Force I, but not by much. Best moment had to be trying to reroute power to shut down a warp core breach while the counter was ticking down.

The AppleCenter says Cassandra is ready, but the store that holds the warranty hasn't picked it up yet. Bastards. I'll have to chase their asses on this.

In other news, of course, Strom Thurmond is dead, at 100. If nothing else, the old bigot (excuse me, mildly reformed bigot) got rid of Trent Lott in his own roundabout way for us before he left. I can't wait to see his face when he meets God.

And finds out She's black.

If I'm not mistaken, Elite Force II has been released for the PC but the Mac release is not till July/August.

Guess you've already gone out and bought your uber kick-ass gaming PC rig, right?

No, not yet. I have a PC at home - my Dad uses it for his work. My asking about building a new machine was because I can't take the one I have now overseas.

Hey, alive until after 100 is way better than the alternative for a lot of folks! He thoroughly enjoyed his wickedness, I'm sure ..... and at least he believed in and fought for Something (as it were). Shrub & Co only pay homage to "Them as has, GETS; them as has nowt (nothing) gets TOOK FROM".

Besides, God will probably just tell Strom that he's got to go back and do it all over again until he figures out how to do things RIGHT! She'll probably tell Lester Maddox the same thing....

Ooooh, do they let you invent new laws of physics and new particles/energy forms, just like in the show?

"Reroute the...uh...metriculon flow through the...uh...hubrolite beams and shunt power from the...uh...lubricium cells to stabilize the warp core!"

:)

Sadly, no. The "rerouting power" puzzle which takes place, in degrees of varying complexity, at various points throughout the game for various components, is basically a tile-like puzzle where you rotate various "wires" to guide the energy from point A to point B without hitting various points along the way that while cause a short circuit.

You do get a chance to debate the Rules of Acquisition with a Ferengi in an attempt to pump him for information, though.

The thing that got me is that Strom Thurmond died immediately after sodomy was legalized.

The potential off-color jokes are simply astounding.
