These questions brought to you courtesy of
tigerbright. Hon, you have two more if you want them.
1) You've mentioned wanting to emigrate from Singapore. Where do you want to go, and how long do you think it will take?
I would be happiest in America, I think, although I would dearly love to live and work in London. Not anywhere else in the UK, just London. I don't know how long that will take — naturalisation is a prolonged process — but I don't see me leaving Singapore for the next couple of years at least, for financial reasons if nothing else.
2) If I somehow miraculously manage to get to 1812Tone, what will you do when you see me? ;)
Squeal, run over to you, give you a big hug, and then ask excitedly, "Where's the baby?" And coo over him if he's there.
3) If we happen to be at the same con, is it still OK if I sing "Hold the Line" for a one-shot? (It's just my favorite performance song right now, when my voice is in shape.)
Please do! I would love to hear it. I've never ever heard anyone sing one of my songs back at me. With two exceptions. One was Steve Mac's version of "Hold The Line" which he did as an experiment, and the other being "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", but I wrote that for Gwen anyway. More people should sing my songs in my presence! One day I want to be an old enough fart of a filker to have someone sing a song in circle and say they don't know who wrote it, and I can pipe up and go, "Oh, I wrote that twenty years ago..."
