I really wish there was some way of Livejournal detecting when a friend's entry indicates that they need a hug or a reassuring reply and let me know because, God knows, I don't have time to read even my inner circle filters anymore and I'm really sorry about this.

I don't think I'd like that.. Just imagine you wnt about hugging people whenever your implant said they looked hug-deprived or just huggable. And then imagine the implant were designed by Microsoft.

conversely, I wish there was some way of LJ detecting when some entry (usually communities) were just going to leave me cold and pissed off for days. That'd be helpful.

... perhaps we need a client that reads the emotion posted with a journal and triggers an event when it is one of a particular subset (upset, annoyed, depressed etc.)

I'd also love to be able to have a view on my friends list that sorted it by last comment posted, so that if there was something that people replied to after I'd read it, it would come back up to the top of my list ... particularly if I could "kill thread" some of them so they didn't come back.
